Walnut pesto is Super easy to make in just a couple of minutes. A true delight packed with fresh, punchy and creamy Italian flavours. This walnut pesto recipe is perfect for salads, antipasti, pasta dishes and much more. You can also use pine nuts, almonds and even sunflower seeds if you are allergic to nuts.
This Pesto could be used in a million ways and is quick and easy to make at home using only 8 ingredients.
You need:
100 g hazelnuts
400 ml basil leaves
3 garlic cloves
1-2 teaspoons of lemon juice
200 ml grated parmesan
100 ml olive oil
1 tsp salt
A pinch of black pepper
How you make it:
Clean the basil and peel the garlic cloves.
Add the basil, walnuts, garlic, lemon juice, and sea salt to a food processor or small blender. Blend the ingredients on high until loose paste forms.
Add olive oil a little at a time in a stream, while the machine is on if possible.
If needed, add a tablespoon of water at a time until reaches the desired consistency. The sauce should be thick but pourable.
Taste and adjust flavour if needed.
You can store the sauce in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze it and store it in the freezer for a month or more.
